After talking to some of you and deliberating among ourselves, at this stage we think that the best option would be to offer the book for download for free (we certainly don’t want to keep one single cent for ourselves) and ask those who download it to make a donation to a charity or a person of their choice. It will be a bit like an honesty box. The charity of your choice can also include victims of domestic violence for example or childhood cancer institutions. You decide.
By doing this we want to show those who have prejudices against us that we can very well contribute to society, and even help neurotypicals in need. However, if you choose an autism group, and we certainly hope some will, we would like to ask you to choose a group led by autistic people. Nothing about us without us.
Of course we will need the approval of the contributors, but we think this would be a nice approach.
